Hello, my shoulder is about a few centimeters out of place since i landed on it strangely. My question is how serious this can be since I still have full range of motion although it does feel unstable in certain positions when I do sports and which doctor I need to see to put it back into place.

  • If your shoulder feels like it is out of place or unstable after a fall, it's important to have it evaluated by a healthcare professional. While I can't provide a definitive diagnosis, I can offer some general information that might be helpful.

When the shoulder is out of place or feels unstable, it could be due to a dislocation or a subluxation. A dislocation occurs when the humerus (upper arm bone) completely comes out of the socket, while a subluxation refers to a partial displacement. Both can cause feelings of instability and may require medical attention.

  • Hello,
If you have full range of motion and you don't feel any pain, it is not that serious. If it was fully dislocated, you wouldn't be able to move it without a lot of pain. Although, if you feel it instable, my advice is to see a physiotherapist to reinforce your shoulder muscles and evoid the dislocation to happen again. Also, the doctor best able to give you advice for that kind of problem is an orthopedist.

    I hope it was helpfull

  • Hello, the shoulder joint is very mobile due to its articular shape and therefore also very unstable. This stability is provided by the rotator cuff muscles. It is possible that you have pulled a muscle or a tendon. I advise you to make an appointment with a first line professional (doctor, osteopath) in order to assess your situation.

As long as your shoulder doesn't hurt I won't panic, but if you are unstable at times I would advise you to go see your doctor or a sports doctor to have your shoulder checked out to investigate whether it is there isn't a stretch or something before you get to the dislocation...

  • Hello,

First of all, if your shoulder is still out of place i would suggest to avoid practicing any sports until you can do it safely. In order to have a good diagnosis of your situation, the best would be to consult an orthopedic doctor or a doctor specialist in sports.

You might need a relocation of the joint (even though i'm not sure because you have a full range of movement), an assessment of the potential damages and make sure you get the specific cares that are needed according to the outcomes. After that first step, you could need a good rehabilitation to stabilize your shoulder in order to be able to use it safel

  • Hello, I suppose you hurt the shoulder joint, which can be without mobility problems but indeed inflammation problems. The best would be eventually to get some x-rays to see if the bone isn't hurt, then osteopathy can also be useful to settle all articular problems in the shoulder but also in the upper back. Thanks.

I recommend you to visit an Orthopaedic Surgeon, in order to evaluate and rule out a serious injury that might risk to get worse and come back often. After that, tf there is no need for surgical care, a Physiotherapist might help you.

  • Based on the information you've provided, it's possible that you have experienced a shoulder dislocation. This occurs when the upper arm bone becomes dislodged from the socket in the shoulder blade. Even if you are still able to move your arm freely, it's important to seek medical attention to assess the extent of the injury and to prevent any potential long-term damage. You should consider consulting with a specialist such as an orthopedic doctor or a sports medicine professional, who can conduct a thorough examination of your shoulder. They may also use imaging tests such as X-rays to better understand the nature of your injury,... Voir plus

  • Hello, It is unlikely that you will still have a dislocated shoulder if you have full range of motion. But if you feel it unstable, it is very likely that there is a small lesion left that should be injected. For this, the best would be to consult an osteopath to analyze this or directly a sports doctor or an orthopedic specialist in the shoulder.

They'll more likely take some medical imaging and call an orthopedist to put it back in its place. The more you wait, the more the muscles and other structure will be injured. A shoulder luxation can really tear the ligaments and shoulder muscles, there is a risk to have it again. So it's very important to get that stability back.
