Equestrian performance

Raf has developed a particular focus on the treatment and performance training of riders. He believes that the rider should be approached as an athlete — with the same attention to physical health, neurological function, recovery and performance that is expected in other elite sports.

Through Eq-Rider Support, Raf works with riders and their performance teams to build greater awareness around self-care and a professional high-performance approach.

Because ultimately, optimal performance in the saddle starts with the rider — creating the conditions for a balanced, confident and effective connection between rider and horse.

High-performance sport

The same philosophy is at the core of Raf’s work with elite athletes. He is responsible for the medical support of Tectum Achel’s professional volleyball team (Liga A) and works with athletes across tennis, cycling, triathlon and dance at international level.

Whether working with elite or recreational athletes, the approach remains the same: understand the individual, optimise how the body and nervous system function, and create the right conditions to perform with confidence.
