Within what timeframe should I cancel my appointment?

The cancellation timeframes for an appointment are determined at the discretion of each practitioner and under their sole responsibility.

Depending on the practitioner, they vary between 1 and 72 hours before the time of the confirmed appointment.

We invite you to inform yourself in advance about the specific conditions applied by your practitioner.

This information can be found in the profile of the practitioner concerned:

Why do some practitioners ask me to pay an amount before finalizing my appointment booking?

This functionality offered by the Doctor Anytime platform can be freely activated by practitioners at their sole discretion.

This option makes it possible to reduce the risk of no-shows (“no-show”) at appointments and, where applicable, to compensate the practitioner for the time lost due to a missed appointment or a cancellation outside the permitted timeframe.

The amount is set by the practitioner who activates it. Doctor Anytime does not intervene in the decision regarding the amount that the practitioner wishes to secure through this mechanism.

How can I know which practitioner has activated this functionality?

Concretely, when a practitioner chooses to activate the functionality allowing them to request an amount from the patient before the appointment, this information will systematically be included in their individual profile (in the “Appointment Policy” section) so that the patient knows, before booking an appointment, whether or not the practitioner concerned uses this functionality.

The information will be repeated to the patient during the subsequent steps of the booking process so that no doubt remains that they have acknowledged the application of this functionality and the consequences it may entail.

A link to the present cancellation policy will also be included so that the patient can easily find all the information.

In all cases, and even for practitioners who have activated this functionality, it is important to note that the patient always has the possibility to book an appointment directly by phone with the practitioner concerned.

I wish to cancel my appointment within the cancellation window authorized by the practitioner:

If the appointment is cancelled within the cancellation timeframe set by the practitioner, no compensation will be requested by the practitioner.

Consequently, if an amount had initially been paid at the request of the practitioner, it will be fully refunded (100%) to the bank card used at the time of booking.

The refund will be processed automatically, without any additional steps on your part.

I wish to cancel my appointment outside the cancellation window authorized by the practitioner or I do not attend the scheduled appointment:

If you cancel your appointment outside the cancellation timeframe set by the practitioner or if you do not attend the appointment, a reasonable portion of the amount, as defined by the applicable professional ethical rules, may be retained. This retention is determined and applied under the sole responsibility of the practitioner.

The practitioner will only receive this amount in the following two cases: if the patient does not attend the appointment (“no-show”) or if the patient cancels late, i.e. outside the authorized timeframe, in order to compensate for the damage caused by the missed appointment.

Even in the event of a cancellation outside the cancellation window set by the practitioner, and despite the initial activation of this functionality, the practitioner may, at their sole discretion, decide not to collect the blocked amount.

Please note that the activation of this functionality by the practitioner does not in any way prevent them from resorting to other judicial or extrajudicial actions available to them to compensate their loss. The decision to initiate such actions rests entirely with the practitioner.

I attend my appointment with a practitioner; can the amount that was previously blocked be used to pay all or part of my consultation?

For appointments booked with a practitioner, the latter may, only when permitted by the applicable ethical rules, offer the patient the possibility to allocate all or part of the amount paid towards the payment of the consultation, subject to their attendance at the appointment.

I have particular circumstances which, in my opinion, may justify my no-show or late cancellation, what can I do?

Even in the event of possible damage suffered by the practitioner as a result of a no-show or a late cancellation, the practitioner must take into account any particular circumstance that the patient submits directly to them.

The decision to collect or not all or part of the amount paid despite these circumstances lies entirely with the practitioner.

The interpretation of what the practitioner understands by “particular circumstances” also lies entirely with them.

Doctor Anytime does not intervene in this decision or in this interpretation and disclaims all responsibility regarding the practitioner’s choice to apply or not the compensation provided for in these exceptional situations.

Who should I contact if I have a dispute regarding the attendance guarantee, its refund or its allocation?

In the event of a dispute relating to an appointment, its cancellation or the potentially blocked amount, the patient must contact the practitioner concerned directly.

The Doctor Anytime platform acts solely as a technical service provider and does not take a position on the blocked amount, nor on the practitioner’s decision to collect all or part of this amount in the event of a no-show (“no-show”) or late cancellation.

Any question or dispute regarding the practitioner’s compensation must therefore be resolved directly between the patient and the practitioner. The practitioner therefore bears full responsibility for setting the blocked amount and the conditions for its release in their favor or in favor of the patient.

Doctor Anytime may, however, intervene in purely technical issues related to the functionality as such, such as, for example, technical problems related to the refund of the amount as such.

In such a case, we invite you, before initiating any action, to contact our support via the email address [email protected]; who will do their utmost to assist you.

What if the practitioner cancels my appointment outside the authorized cancellation window or does not see me when I attend the appointment?

In the event of cancellation of the appointment by the practitioner outside the authorized cancellation window or of a no-show on their part, the blocked amount will be fully refunded to the patient, free of charge.

In such a case, the practitioner also undertakes, subject to particular circumstances, to compensate the patient in a manner equivalent to what they would have received themselves in the event of a late cancellation by the patient. The practitioner acknowledges that they assume full responsibility for this approach towards the patient.

Finally, the full refund of the blocked amount shall in no way constitute a waiver, on the part of the patient, of any judicial or extrajudicial action they deem appropriate in order to obtain additional compensation for any potential damage suffered.
