Na het behalen van een Master in de toegepaste economische wetenschappen, was het tijd voor iets anders. Mijn interesse in voeding was, omwille van mijn sport, altijd al belangrijk geweest en werd nog veel meer aangewakkerd.

Op je voeding letten is immers één ding; om te snappen waar het echt om gaat, moet je een aantal boeken opentrekken en studeren. Nu is het zo dat voeding spijtig genoeg nog geen exacte wetenschap is en er veel discussie is in deze wereld. Om die reden doe ik veel aan zelfstudie en woon ik seminaries bij. Zo houd ik er een kritische houding op na waardoor ik niet blindelings de klassieke dieettheorie toepas, maar evenmin roekeloos de nieuwe trends volg.

Hoe meer inzicht ik krijg in de onderliggende fysiologie, hoe boeiender het wordt, en hoe beter we voeding kunnen inschakelen als medicijn. Een gezonde geest in een gezond lichaam vereist een gezonde voeding. Voeding zorgt voor energie. Je gevoel, humeur, je volledige gezondheid wordt bepaald door wat je eet. Voeding staat vandaag volop in de spotlight, maar helaas is er nog onvoldoende bewustzijn over hoe eten de gezondheid kan verbeteren en klachten die zelfs op het eerste zicht niets met vertering/ voeding te maken hebben - kan verminderen.
