Psychologist Noémie Bar welcomes you in her private practice in Ottignies for a psychological follow-up. Graduated in social and intercultural psychology at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Mrs. Bar is now specialized in the fields of anxiety, addictions, behavioral management of emotions, traumas and sexual and marital violence and is also a hypnotherapist. The therapeutic orientation is behavioral using cognitive-behavioral therapy in a brief therapy axis. The practice is humanistic, centered on the resources of the person. Focused mainly on the therapeutic relationship, the accompaniment is dynamic and constructive. At certain times in life, we may feel more like ourselves. Certain events can lead us to feel unbalanced, to lose our bearings. Sometimes we don't understand why we find ourselves in a situation that is completely out of control. For example: "I feel overwhelmed by events, others tend to minimize what I feel, I don't feel safe at work or at home, I can't get anyone to listen to me, I feel stressed when I have to meet a new person, I feel bad when I am in a group or have to speak in public, I feel pain that is not caused by a physical condition, I have difficulty getting up in the morning, nothing appeals to me anymore, I have difficulty eating or I tend to overeat... I have a master's degree in clinical psychology (ULB) and am training in psychoanalytically oriented child psychotherapy (ULB). During my professional career, I have worked with patients of all ages. I receive children, adolescents and adults. Caring and non-judgment are the values I rely on to offer you a safe space. It is a place where you can come as you are, with your difficulties, your questions and your desires. The work in which I accompany you is a co-construction in which you are the actor. Important life events (and transitions), self-esteem problems, emotional management, relational difficulties, need for guidance or parenting support, school dropout, phobia... so many worries that can cause suffering and for which you can be supported! Together, we work on what you want to share, whether it be through discussion, games, drawing... thanks to a follow-up adapted to your rhythm and your needs.

Karmen Schiettecatte works as a clinical psychologist and systems therapist in Merelbeke. She holds a master's degree in psychology - major in clinical psychology from the University of Ghent. She has chosen to follow a therapy course, which allows her to work more specifically with the questions that arise in practice. The various therapeutic currents in psychology have a similar basis but also have their own accents. For systemic therapists, the emphasis is on the person in his context. In therapy we explore together the difficulties and concerns that have an influence, based on the communication and interaction patterns used in relation to the other person.

As a clinical psychologist with a passion for human functioning and relationships, I offer to accompany individuals on their singular path to well-being. In a posture of active, empathic and benevolent listening and thanks to tools borrowed from cognitive-behavioral, humanistic and existential therapy. Considering continuous training as essential in the course of a clinician, I am currently training in processual psychotherapy. In this context, I pay particular attention to the importance of the therapeutic relationship and the choice of therapeutic techniques based on scientific evidence.

As a psychologist, I worked as a clinician but also a researcher, in various fields such as chronic pain, psychosomatic disorders, addictions as well as cancers of hereditary origin. This allowed me to gain a lot of experience with issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, managing emotions, etc. I work mainly within the framework of ACT therapy which allows us to give a lot of meaning to our lives by identifying the values ​​that guide us. At the same time, passionate about sport and broader health issues, and wanting to develop a holistic approach, I am also a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Nutrition Coach. I can thus deal with questions specifically addressing one of the themes that are dear to me such as psychology, sport and nutrition or in an even broader framework, work on questions related to all the possible interactions between body, mind and nutrition.
