Having graduated with a master's degree in physiotherapy, I decided to complete my training with a specialized master's degree in the management of musculoskeletal disorders and with a university certificate in manual therapy this year. I have a great interest in musculoskeletal pathologies (joints, muscles, etc.) as well as sports-related pathologies, in connection with my passion for physical activity and more specifically for dance! For more than ten years, I have been practicing breaking (or breakdancing), a physical discipline with an artistic and creative aspect. It was therefore quite natural that I turned to physiotherapy, which focuses on movements and the body in a similar way to dance. Thanks to my experience as a dancer combined with my clinical practice, I will make every effort to offer treatments adapted to each patient according to their needs and desires, based on the best scientific evidence available. I worked for 3 years in Portugal as a physiotherapist and I used that time to invest as much as I could in courses so that I could provide quality treatments to my patients. 

My main goal is to continue investing in gaining more and more knowledge so that I can apply it in my clinical practice. I'm a big fan of quality treatments and good follow-up with patients. That makes all the difference to the patient's progress.

I'm very involved in the musculoskeletal area and for this reason I treat pathologies such as back, shoulder, elbow, knee pain, I work a lot on post-operative rehabilitation and also with tendonitis, bursitis and calcifications.

I love doing treatments that involve acupuncture because I really like the quick and long-lasting results, and acupuncture allows me to do that. That's why I really enjoy combining my knowledge of physiotherapy with my knowledge of acupuncture (traditional Chinese medicine).

Michel Schoonjans has a degree in physiotherapy and functional rehabilitation from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and has been an official physiotherapist since 1996. With more than 23 years of experience, he is able to treat all people suffering from musculoskeletal, respiratory, cardiovascular or psychomotor disorders. Michel Schoonjans has a very rich background in the field of physical therapy. Indeed, he has carried out several in-depth researches on the interest of coupling isokinetic testing and EMG in the context of patellofemoral syndrome.
