My outgoing, caring and passionate personality resonates with the philosophy of osteopathy which I decided to study for the human contact and the help to others through a hollistic approach to understand the origin of problems, to treat them and to avoid possible chronic injuries. Osteopathy, an alternative and traditional medicine, is a primary health care discipline and is therefore partially refunded by the mutual insurance company. I graduated in July 2022 from the European School of Osteopathy (ESO) in England and had the opportunity to study the human body and practice for 4 years. My training in England allowed me to learn the 3 bases of osteopathy such as the structural, the functional and the visceral and to put it into practice at the school's clinic where I was able to treat my patients for 2 years with supervision. These 1300 hours of clinical practice allowed me to acquire a wide range of techniques such as: articular, cranial, cranio-sacral, facial, myotensive, visceral, etc.. During my last year of master, I had the chance to specialise in pediatrics, perinatal and sports medicine. I had the exceptional opportunity to treat babies as young as a few weeks old, children and teenagers, pregnant women and post-partum, athletes and elderly people. Kathleen Gillain est ostéopathe D.O. depuis 2024. Elle a d'abord suivi une formation en kinésithérapie à l'école Parnasse ISEI, de 2015 à 2019, avant de se spécialiser en ostéopathie à la Belgian School of Osteopathy, où elle a étudié de 2019 à 2024. Pendant son parcours, Kathleen a rédigé un mémoire en kinésithérapie portant sur les étirements de l'épaule chez les sportifs, et un autre en ostéopathie, axé sur le traitement du nerf vague et son influence sur la fréquence cardiaque. Elle exerce actuellement au cabinet Drugmand, au centre Body Therapy à Sombreffe, ainsi qu’à Mellery. Par ailleurs, Kathleen occupe également le rôle d’assistante à la Belgian School of Osteopathy.
