Diplômé en 2022 à la Haute École Libre de Bruxelles, j’ai débuté ma carrière en exerçant pendant six mois sur l’île de La Réunion. Depuis la création du centre Medkin à Braine-l’Alleud, j’y pratique la kinésithérapie générale du lundi au vendredi.

Soucieux d’enrichir mes compétences, j'ai terminé en 2025 une formation de deux ans en thérapie manuelle à la SFER à Mons.

Passionné par le sport, notamment le basket et la course à pied, j’adapte mes traitements aux besoins spécifiques de chaque patient, qu’il s’agisse de rééducation, de prévention ou d’optimisation des performances.

My work as a sports physiotherapist covers all the pathologies associated with sporting activities, with the aim of preventing and treating injuries to joints and muscles, as well as postoperative injuries. I have a wealth of experience working in sports clubs (football, boxing, triathlon, surfing, etc.) and I help my patients to get back into shape and improve their well-being, whether they are top-level sportsmen and women or amateurs. I work with people of all ages and rub shoulders with many professional and amateur sportspeople. My role is to help you get back into sport and competition.

I am specialised in runners pathologies, orthopaedic manual therapy, elbow, hand and wrist pathologies, TMJ (jaw) pathologies and headaches as well as in the treatment of musicians. I continue to follow regular professional development seminars in order to improve the efficiency of your treatment. As a sportswoman and musician since I was very young, I quickly understood the importance of a good physical condition. I am passionate about the functions and capacities of the human body, and it is with both enthusiasm and benevolence that I accompany you on your treatment journey. I also encourage you to maintain or restart your sporting activities by sharing its many physical and psychological benefits. Hardworking, thoughtful and attentive, I will adapt my practice to your requirements, your objectives and your availability.

Passionnée par mon métier, je suis à l’écoute de chaque patient afin de proposer des soins doux, personnalisés et adaptés à vos besoins. J’oriente ma pratique vers la kinésithérapie générale (orthopédique et gériatrique), j’accompagne aussi bien les adolescents que les adultes. Michel Schoonjans has a degree in physiotherapy and functional rehabilitation from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and has been an official physiotherapist since 1996. With more than 23 years of experience, he is able to treat all people suffering from musculoskeletal, respiratory, cardiovascular or psychomotor disorders. Michel Schoonjans has a very rich background in the field of physical therapy. Indeed, he has carried out several in-depth researches on the interest of coupling isokinetic testing and EMG in the context of patellofemoral syndrome. For the past 10 years, he has also been a member of the teaching staff at the ULB as an assistant in charge of exercises at the Institute of Motor Sciences, and at the HELB as a training supervisor. He also practiced at the osteoarticular center of the Antoine Depage Clinic where he gained the trust of several patients. The physiotherapist, Frédéric Weerlitzer, specialized in orthopedics, traumatology and sports pathologies, graduated from the HELB in 2000. He has been a physical therapist at the RSCA training center since 2005. He welcomes you at the Kio Medical Center every day by appointment.
