My name is Véronique Cappeliez, I am 39 years old, I am a psychologist, married, and mother of 4 children. I started my consultations in 2014, after obtaining my degree in psychology and educational science at the Catholic University of Louvain in 2012, in the specialties of cognitive-behavioral psychology (which wants to understand our behavior) and neuropsychology (which studies the brain, its wonders, its deficiencies, etc.). Since my diploma, I have supported several people in the diagnosis of dementia, as well as those around them (because we must not neglect close caregivers who are also going through this difficult time), trying to find with them the means to adapt. to the progression of the disease, while continuing to live peacefully. Becoming a mother pushed me to study child psychology, their development, their psychomotor skills. I also deepened my knowledge in child neuropsychology, in order to diagnose certain disorders, assess IQ to obtain speech therapy help, and support so-called “different” children, but for me, unique 😉. With the year 2020 which turned the whole world upside down with its covid, and for my part, the birth of my 4th child, I obtained a certificate in Parental Burn out, because I saw many couples and parents around me in the midst of difficulties in their lives, and I wanted to be able to have new tools to help them get through this stage. My professional journey leads me to meet people, to enter into their lives, to understand their suffering, to try to find its origin, then to develop solutions in order to initiate a change, to find their fulfillment.
