Passionate about physiology, I enjoy helping women learn to trust their bodies and discover the amazing powers that their bodies can bring to the birth experience. The comprehensive follow-up allows me to establish a real bond of trust with couples, which is essential to prepare for a beautiful birth. I am also a mother of two young children. I am trained in birth preparation (by Bernadette De Gasquet, Ingrid Bayot and Julie Bonapace), in sexology and in physiological babywearing.

A graduate since 2005, Caroline gained a great deal of experience in the delivery unit and maternity ward at Hôpital Saint-Jean in Brussels. Since 2019, she has been working there in prenatal consultation. In 2020 Caroline started working as an independent midwife for pre- and postnatal care. From now on, she will be consulting at POLYCARE Brussels (allée de la Minerva 2, Woluwe Saint Pierre) every other Monday from 9:30am to 1:30pm.

Je vais te parler de mon métier de sage-femme, une vocation qui a changé ma vie.

Dans ma pratique, j’accompagne les parents tout au long de cette expérience bouleversante et merveilleuse qu’est la grossesse. Je les écoute, je les conseille. Avec mes préparations à la parentalité et à l’accouchement, je les prépare à cette étape intense qu’est la naissance.

Après la naissance, j’assure le suivi des mères et de leur bébé dès leur retour à domicile. J’accompagne cette période délicate et riche en émotions du post-partum. J’assure le suivi de la mise en place de l’alimentation chez le nouveau-né. Je surveille la bonne mise en place de l’allaitement maternel et je donne des outils en cas de difficultés.

En post-partum, je propose des ateliers parentaux sur différentes thèmes : les massages bébé, les ateliers « bébé signe » et des rencontres autour du sommeil des tout-petits (0-2 ans).

En pratique, je propose :

• Un suivi médical complet pour une grossesse physiologique

• Des préparations à la naissance et à la parentalité

• Un accompagnement médical de la mère et l'enfant en post-partum, et ce, jusqu'au un an de l'enfant, au domicile du patient ou en cabinet.

• L'accompagnement de l'allaitement maternel

• Des ateliers après la naissance : massage bébé, bébé signe.

After studying applied languages ​​and a stint in the business world in Europe and the United States, I reconnected with my teenage passion: pregnancy and births. To confirm my commitment, I started by volunteering for several months in an American hospital and then began studying midwifery. I was lucky enough to be able to make my debut in the liberal environment that is dear to me by replacing a colleague. There I discovered all the richness of global monitoring. By joining the Amala Preparation & Care team, I can contribute to the development of women and couples, to respectful support during this perinatal period, to their empowerment, whether through preparation for birth, prenatal medical consultations or home care. In my midwifery toolbox, I particularly bring mindfulness meditation.

The midwife accompanies you during pregnancy, offers support and follow-up before, during and after pregnancy and childbirth. As a midwife, I provide pre- and postnatal consultations, support during the postpartum period and advise you on breastfeeding. I support you in building your self-confidence, accompany you in decisions regarding your desired care and assist you in a harmonious birth. In the area of fertility or for preconceptional advice until the end of pregnancy, I answer your questions and advise you in a professional way in the important moments for you, your baby and your family. If pregnancy problems or difficulties arise, you can get advice and support. If necessary, I will be in contact with other health care providers. Welcome to all of you!

Florence Wouters is a professional midwife specializing in the Bonapace Method, Rebozo, N'feraido, and Hypnobirthing. Passionate about this profession, she trained at ISEI, St Jean and HELB Ilya Prigogine. After graduation, Florence Wouters officially started her practice in 2008. At the end of her studies, she completed a TFE on "Childbirth, with or without epidural". Her objective being to improve herself as much as possible in order to offer a precious and qualitative accompaniment during the birth of a child, Florence Wouters has acquired new professional experiences since then. Thus, after 8 years of work at the Clinique Ste Elisabeth (Uccle), she joined the Amala Espace Naissance practice. She also made a trip to Mexico where she was able to work with a traditional midwife and discover the procedure that follows home births. Florence Wouters is also a member of the UPSFB association. This allows her to update her knowledge each time to better satisfy her patients. An appointment with midwife Florence Wouters can last an average of one hour depending on the type of consultation. Venue à ce métier, un peu par hasard, je me suis prise de passion pour le métier de sage-femme (SF) en assistant à mon premier accouchement dans une maternité marocaine. Après avoir exercé pendant deux ans au Maroc, j'ai refait mes études en Belgique afin de pouvoir y pratiquer. J'ai obtenu le diplôme belge en 2014, ce qui m'a permis, dès cette année-là, d'intégrer l'ASBL Au Fil De La Naissance (AFDN). En 2017, j'ai complété ma formation par un Master en Santé Publique et j'enseigne à présent dans une école de SF.

Comme sage-femme, j’ai une grande confiance en la vie et en la naissance. L’intuition des femmes, la sagesse de leurs bébés sont pour moi des guides dans mon travail, mais aussi dans ma vie. J’aime rendre aux familles leur pleine autonomie en leur laissant l’espace pour qu’elles puissent être actrices de leur santé. J’aime accompagner les femmes et les couples dans cette période de grande transformation afin qu’iels puissent vivre ces changements avec sérénité. Mon amour et ma grande passion pour mon métier me poussent à entourer les familles avec beaucoup de bienveillance et de douceur. Ayant travaillé quatre ans en salle d’accouchement, à la maternité, en consultation prénatale et en service de grossesses à hauts risques, je bénéficie d’une expérience globale et multiple. J’ai également eu la chance de me former dans l’Approche Quantique ainsi qu’en Rebozo. Je suis par ailleurs formée en haptonomie, en préparation affective à la naissance, en préparation prénatale aquatique et en massage harmonisant de la femme enceinte. Je proposerai bientôt des rituels de soins post partum.
