Midwives

A graduate since 2005, Caroline gained a great deal of experience in the delivery unit and maternity ward at Hôpital Saint-Jean in Brussels. Since 2019, she has been working there in prenatal consultation. In 2020 Caroline started working as an independent midwife for pre- and postnatal care. From now on, she will be consulting at POLYCARE Brussels (allée de la Minerva 2, Woluwe Saint Pierre) every other Monday from 9:30am to 1:30pm.

After studying applied languages ​​and a stint in the business world in Europe and the United States, I reconnected with my teenage passion: pregnancy and births. To confirm my commitment, I started by volunteering for several months in an American hospital and then began studying midwifery. I was lucky enough to be able to make my debut in the liberal environment that is dear to me by replacing a colleague. There I discovered all the richness of global monitoring. By joining the Amala Preparation & Care team, I can contribute to the development of women and couples, to respectful support during this perinatal period, to their empowerment, whether through preparation for birth, prenatal medical consultations or home care. In my midwifery toolbox, I particularly bring mindfulness meditation.

C'est, après un détour par des études de philosophie et l'accueil de mes enfants, que j'ai pu confirmer mon désir de faire de la maïeutique, aussi avec mes mains, et pas seulement avec ma tête. 

Je pratique mon métier de sage-femme riche de ces différentes casquettes. Je garde de la pratique philosophique, un goût pour la remise en question permanente et l'accueil bienveillant de la parole de l'autre. 

Quant à mon bagage de sage-femme, il s'est enrichi de la pratique hospitalière et libérale, que j'affectionne dans les deux cas. J'ai un tropisme pour l'hypnose, la méditation et le massage.

J'ai à cœur de vous accompagner, dans l'équipe préparation et soins, dans la plus grande ouverture et le respect de vos choix. Je mets à votre disposition toutes ces ressources afin que vous trouviez votre propre chemin de parent.

Amélie Delaporte received her midwifery diploma in 2000 and studied at the Foch Hospital in Suresnes. With more than 20 years of experience as a professional midwife, she is able to accompany her patients in the best possible way. She is smiling, attentive, listening and is always looking for the satisfaction of her patients. This makes her a dedicated midwife that patients do not hesitate to recommend. During her professional career, she has worked in several clinics in Marseille, La Garenne-Colombes, Saint-Denis hospital and Neuilly-sur-seine hospital for more than 15 years. She is specialized in prenatal consultations, childbirth and postpartum care. She has followed numerous trainings: de Gasquet, Bonapace method, N'féraïdo. Mrs. Amélie Delaporte also had to do her thesis on the obstetrical prognosis of fetal macrosomia. You can find her at the Amala practice in Brussels. Appointments in this practice are self-confirmed. Moreover, a consultation there can last an average of one hour.

Diplômée depuis 2011 en tant que sage femme, je travaille actuellement à la clinique Saint Michel en salle d'accouchement et en maternité. En parallèle, je fais des préparations à la naissance, des consultations prénatales( en alternance avec le gynécologue),des séances de réflexologie, des préparation en Hyno-Douceur. Je fais aussi des suivis post partum à domicile ainsi que des ateliers de massage bébé. Depuis juin 2024, je suis consultante en lactation, bientôt certifiée IBCLC en septembre 2024. Je serai ravie de vous accompagner dans cette magnifique aventure. En tant que sage-femme, j’ai à cœur d’offrir un accompagnement à chaque étape de la maternité, de la grossesse au post-partum. Mes services comprennent : Suivi post-partum à domicile, Préparation globale à la naissance, Massages prénatals et massages pour bébés, Cupping thérapie.

The midwife accompanies you during pregnancy, offers support and follow-up before, during and after pregnancy and childbirth. As a midwife, I provide pre- and postnatal consultations, support during the postpartum period and advise you on breastfeeding. I support you in building your self-confidence, accompany you in decisions regarding your desired care and assist you in a harmonious birth. In the area of fertility or for preconceptional advice until the end of pregnancy, I answer your questions and advise you in a professional way in the important moments for you, your baby and your family. If pregnancy problems or difficulties arise, you can get advice and support. If necessary, I will be in contact with other health care providers. Welcome to all of you!

Venue à ce métier, un peu par hasard, je me suis prise de passion pour le métier de sage-femme (SF) en assistant à mon premier accouchement dans une maternité marocaine. Après avoir exercé pendant deux ans au Maroc, j'ai refait mes études en Belgique afin de pouvoir y pratiquer. J'ai obtenu le diplôme belge en 2014, ce qui m'a permis, dès cette année-là, d'intégrer l'ASBL Au Fil De La Naissance (AFDN). En 2017, j'ai complété ma formation par un Master en Santé Publique et j'enseigne à présent dans une école de SF.

Florence Wouters is a professional midwife specializing in the Bonapace Method, Rebozo, N'feraido, and Hypnobirthing. Passionate about this profession, she trained at ISEI, St Jean and HELB Ilya Prigogine. After graduation, Florence Wouters officially started her practice in 2008. At the end of her studies, she completed a TFE on "Childbirth, with or without epidural". Her objective being to improve herself as much as possible in order to offer a precious and qualitative accompaniment during the birth of a child, Florence Wouters has acquired new professional experiences since then. Thus, after 8 years of work at the Clinique Ste Elisabeth (Uccle), she joined the Amala Espace Naissance practice. She also made a trip to Mexico where she was able to work with a traditional midwife and discover the procedure that follows home births. Florence Wouters is also a member of the UPSFB association. This allows her to update her knowledge each time to better satisfy her patients. An appointment with midwife Florence Wouters can last an average of one hour depending on the type of consultation.
