How to Get an HPV Vaccine in Belgium at 21: GP Ordering and Costs

I am 21 years old and I would like to have an HPV vaccination as suggested from my gynecologist abroad, however idk how to do that in Belgium? Can GP order these vaccines for me? It is free of charge?

    A generaliste can prescribe and administrate it.
    But you aren't less than 14 years, so you will have to pay the totality.

  • Normally it is free for adolescent (11-13 y) but you should ask your gynecologist : he knows if it is possible for adults as well

  • Yes, you can get HPV vaccine with a prescription of GP. HPV vaccines are free until 16 yo of age and partially reimbursed until 19 yo of age but after 19 yo of age you have to pay the full price -if you don't have a private insurance such as DKV, Axa,..because these private insurances reimburse the vaccines.

    After the age of 18 years, this vaccine isn't free anymore. Your GP can make a prescription and you can buy it in the pharmacy and bring to your appointment with your GP.
