As a clinical psychologist with a degree from the ULB, I offer a caring and reassuring framework to accompany any person experiencing discomfort, questions or symptoms. Although my approach is mainly analytical, I consider the treatment as an active collaboration between the psychologist and the consultant. Thus, I sometimes use concepts and tools from other approaches (systemic and ttc) in order to adapt my practice to the individuality of the person. I receive teenagers and adults individually for 45 minutes, either for a one-time meeting or for a long-term follow-up.

Je possède un master en psychologie clinique de l’adulte de l’UCLouvain et un bachelier en psychopédagogie et psychomotricité de Marie Haps. J'ai été formée à la thérapie de la reconsolidation (Méthode Brunet). Lors de mon parcours clinique, j'ai développé mes compétences en accompagnant une grande variété de personnes souffrant de différents troubles psychologiques. Actuellement, je travaille avec des enfants, des adolescents, des adultes et des seniors. Je propose des consultations en turc et en français, avec une approche basée sur l'écoute active, la bienveillance, le regard positif inconditionnel et la compréhension empathique. Pour moi, la congruence est essentielle dans la relation thérapeutique. La thérapie de la reconsolidation est une méthode courte pour traiter les traumatismes, les phobies, les deuils persistants complexes et les troubles de l'adaptation. Chaque événement est abordé individuellement en 8 séances, combinant une thérapie spécifique avec l'utilisation du propranolol.

Je suis également formée à l'EMDR (Désensibilisation et Retraitement par les Mouvements Oculaires), qui est une méthode psychothérapeutique visant à aider les personnes à surmonter des traumatismes et des émotions difficiles. Grâce à une stimulation bilatérale (généralement par des mouvements oculaires), cette approche permet de retraiter des souvenirs douloureux afin de les intégrer plus efficacement dans notre mémoire.

Monique Defurnaux is a clinical psychologist and is currently training in humanistic psychotherapy. She welcomes you on Mondays and Fridays from 4:30 to 8:30 pm at the Centre médical Corps-Santé, Gembloux. She listens to her patients and will take care of each case with interest and benevolence.

Je travaille selon une approche cognitivo-comportementale (TCC); cette approche a pour intérêt de modifier les comportements et pensées problématiques par des conduites plus appropriées dans un esprit de respect, collaboration, transparence et d'incitation à l'action.

A psychologist by training, I began training in hippotherapy and animal mediation at the beginning of my master's degree. During my studies I was particularly interested in issues such as harassment, palliative care, parenthood and disability. I continue to educate myself in these different areas through various trainings. I work in a therapy center from Monday to Saturday in Chaumont-Gistoux and in parallel I participate in the implementation and supervision of the pedagogical project of the Asbl Rire et grandir which welcomes children from 0 to 5 years old. I am 46 years old and I am a systemic psychologist/psychotherapist. I work mainly with couples and families, but also with individuals. The people who have consulted me say that I am a gentle, calm person and that I am very invested in the interviews. They also say that I am atypical compared to the psychologist colleagues they have known, and that this characteristic is experienced in a very positive way for them. When I presented my family and personal history in my second year of postgraduate training in systemic psychology, one of the things that Ms. E. Goldbeter said to me was, "You sound like you're telling the story of a 70-year-old man, when you're only 36. You have done a lot of things in life...". Indeed, I am 46 years old and I am now a psychologist, a psychotherapist, since two years a lecturer at the University of Liege as an expert in psychology, a photographer and a musician, who puts together his different life experiences to try to make them useful in psychological meetings. I often use metaphor, humor, but also music, photography, and many other things in order to make the suffering situation presented to me as simple, clear, explicit and intelligible as possible for everyone. This collective understanding is often linked to the beginning of the resolution of the problem(s). When couples, families or individuals come to my office, I always explain to them certain points to which I pay particular attention: communication, emotions, family history, the feeling of justice and injustice experienced between people.
