I am a New Zealand-trained physiotherapist with over 12 years of clinical experience, working with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries, sports injuries, and post-surgical rehabilitation.

I have a particular interest in sports physiotherapy and rehabilitation, with extensive experience working with elite athletes. I have worked with New Zealand elite athletes in cycling, rowing and athletics, including at multiple international sporting events.

I combine manual therapy with active rehabilitation and strength training, adapting the approach to your injury, needs and level of experience. .

Diplômée en 2016, je possède une expérience de 7 ans dans le domaine de la revalidation neuro-locomotrice, ce qui m'a permis d'acquérir une expertise approfondie dans l'accompagnement et la rééducation des patients atteints de troubles de l'appareil locomoteur.

Au cours de mon parcours, j'ai suivi plusieurs formations spécialisées, notamment : Le Concept abdo-périnéo, L'Approche posturale de la lombalgie par la méthode de Gasquet, L'actualisation de la prise en charge globale du malade hémiplégique et Le traitement des cicatrices.

Passionnée de sport et sportive moi-même, je comprends l'importance de l'activité physique dans le processus de rééducation et d'amélioration du bien-être.

Passionné de sport depuis mon plus jeune âge, j'ai développé une réelle affinité pour le domaine de la santé et du mouvement. Diplômé de l'UCLouvain, j'ai complété mon cursus avec un second Master en kiné musculo-squelettique, suivi d'un Certificat Universitaire en Thérapie Manuelle Orthopédique (TMO), d'un Certificat en kinésithérapie du Sport avec la SFMKS (France), et finalement d'une formation continue en coaching sportif chez Dan Hunter.

Graduating in 2022, I directly began a specialization in pelvi-perineology at UCL. Alexandre is a sports physiotherapist who has evolved with the values of team sports. For him, bringing a group to success will always be his primary objective! His care is directed towards adult patients with more orthopedic pathologies (fractures, sprains, muscle tears, tendinopathies, neck pain, pre- and postoperative care, special expertise for the shoulder, ...) and/or neurological. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Physiotherapy, a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy from KU Leuven, where I specialized in Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation and Manual Therapy, and the European Diploma in Pain Physiotherapy.

Alongside my clinical work, I am a PhD Researcher at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and a member of the Pain in Motion Research Group. My research focuses on chronic pain, psychological factors such as anxiety, and how psychologically informed approaches can be integrated into evidence-based physiotherapy to provide more personalized and effective rehabilitation. I am also a member of the Belgian Pain Society’s Young Researchers Panel, supporting initiatives that connect and promote early-career pain researchers in Belgium.

MY APPROACH

I provide individualized, evidence-based physiotherapy adapted to each patient’s symptoms, goals, preferences, and daily life. I consider not only the physical aspects of pain, but also factors such as stress, anxiety, sleep, movement confidence, and previous experiences that may influence recovery.

Au cours de ma formation, j'ai eu l'opportunité de me spécialiser dans la rééducation du dos et de me forger une solide expérience dans la prise en charge de personnes en pré et post opératoire, en affections post traumatique, ainsi que de travailler avec des personnes souffrant d'affections respiratoires, circulatoires, rhumatismales ou neurologiques. Je m'appelle Alexandru Munteanu. J'ai un diplôme équivalent en kinésithérapie, étant diplômé de la faculté de kinésithérapie de "l'Université nationale d'éducation physique et du sport", Bucarest, avec le titre de Master en récupération et rééducation motrice et somato-fonctionnelle. Avec beaucoup de patience et avec les compétences professionnelles acquises, je suis toujours à l'écoute de mes patients et très impliqué dans l'aspect médical de mon métier.
