After a master's degree in translation and a career as a freelance translator, Aline Schoentjes has been an independent midwife since 2008. She also holds a CU in Mindfulness and a certificate in Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting. Co-founder of Amala Espace Naissance, she has been involved for the past twelve years in the global accompaniment of future parents. You can also hear her regularly on the radio alongside Véronique Thiberghien in the Tendances Première program to defend the cause of parents and babies. With her colleagues from the Preparation and Care Center, she offers preparation sessions for birth and parenthood based on emotional touch, hypnosis and mindfulness. She will meet you after the birth in the privacy of your home for postnatal care, and support you in your first steps as a parent and breastfeeding. Aline is a member of UPSFB (the professional union of midwives) and ABFAM (the French-speaking Belgian association of friends of Mindfulness). She is constantly training with perinatal specialists and recognized Mindfulness teachers, and regularly participates in retreats to deepen her own meditative practice. She also teaches in the inter-university certificate of advanced clinical practice in midwifery. Like all Amala midwives, Aline is regularly supervised to ensure the quality of her work. C'est, après un détour par des études de philosophie et l'accueil de mes enfants, que j'ai pu confirmer mon désir de faire de la maïeutique, aussi avec mes mains, et pas seulement avec ma tête. 

Je pratique mon métier de sage-femme riche de ces différentes casquettes. Je garde de la pratique philosophique, un goût pour la remise en question permanente et l'accueil bienveillant de la parole de l'autre. 

Quant à mon bagage de sage-femme, il s'est enrichi de la pratique hospitalière et libérale, que j'affectionne dans les deux cas. J'ai un tropisme pour l'hypnose, la méditation et le massage.

My background I grew up with my feet in the Mediterranean. I left the south of France to study in Brussels. My first big trip. And what a journey! After graduating in 2005, I decided to leave for India, backpacking, after a few replacements as a midwife in hospitals in France. I joined an Indian midwife in a small village of Karnataka in the south of India. During several weeks, I observe her...I learn...I listen... I began to develop a finesse of clinical observation. Being in the "middle of nowhere", with no analysis laboratory, no ultrasound and no fetal monitoring, forced me to adapt without concession: to use my eyes, my ears, my hands, to smell the odors. Senses that I had forgotten in my native West due to the blissful ease of access to medical science. My path will lead me to meet almost all of India and Nepal. I returned to Belgium with a heart full of stars to start working in hospitals as a midwife.

Amélie Delaporte received her midwifery diploma in 2000 and studied at the Foch Hospital in Suresnes. With more than 20 years of experience as a professional midwife, she is able to accompany her patients in the best possible way. She is smiling, attentive, listening and is always looking for the satisfaction of her patients. This makes her a dedicated midwife that patients do not hesitate to recommend. During her professional career, she has worked in several clinics in Marseille, La Garenne-Colombes, Saint-Denis hospital and Neuilly-sur-seine hospital for more than 15 years. She is specialized in prenatal consultations, childbirth and postpartum care. She has followed numerous trainings: de Gasquet, Bonapace method, N'féraïdo. Mrs. Amélie Delaporte also had to do her thesis on the obstetrical prognosis of fetal macrosomia. You can find her at the Amala practice in Brussels. Appointments in this practice are self-confirmed. Moreover, a consultation there can last an average of one hour.

Florence Wouters is a professional midwife specializing in the Bonapace Method, Rebozo, N'feraido, and Hypnobirthing. Passionate about this profession, she trained at ISEI, St Jean and HELB Ilya Prigogine. After graduation, Florence Wouters officially started her practice in 2008. At the end of her studies, she completed a TFE on "Childbirth, with or without epidural". Her objective being to improve herself as much as possible in order to offer a precious and qualitative accompaniment during the birth of a child, Florence Wouters has acquired new professional experiences since then. Thus, after 8 years of work at the Clinique Ste Elisabeth (Uccle), she joined the Amala Espace Naissance practice. She also made a trip to Mexico where she was able to work with a traditional midwife and discover the procedure that follows home births. Florence Wouters is also a member of the UPSFB association. This allows her to update her knowledge each time to better satisfy her patients. An appointment with midwife Florence Wouters can last an average of one hour depending on the type of consultation. Appointments are also self-confirmed.

Working at Amala symbolizes for me respecting and championing each woman/family in the depth and power of their unique skills. I therefore wish to support you in this global perspective, integrating all dimensions of the human being (physical, emotional, spiritual, social, etc.), while combining current scientific knowledge and deep respect for physiology. Focusing all support on developing your autonomy and well-being is a priority for me.

After studying applied languages ​​and a stint in the business world in Europe and the United States, I reconnected with my teenage passion: pregnancy and births. To confirm my commitment, I started by volunteering for several months in an American hospital and then began studying midwifery. I was lucky enough to be able to make my debut in the liberal environment that is dear to me by replacing a colleague. There I discovered all the richness of global monitoring. By joining the Amala Preparation & Care team, I can contribute to the development of women and couples, to respectful support during this perinatal period, to their empowerment, whether through preparation for birth, prenatal medical consultations or home care. In my midwifery toolbox, I particularly bring mindfulness meditation.

Comme sage-femme, j’ai une grande confiance en la vie et en la naissance. L’intuition des femmes, la sagesse de leurs bébés sont pour moi des guides dans mon travail, mais aussi dans ma vie. J’aime rendre aux familles leur pleine autonomie en leur laissant l’espace pour qu’elles puissent être actrices de leur santé. J’aime accompagner les femmes et les couples dans cette période de grande transformation afin qu’iels puissent vivre ces changements avec sérénité. Mon amour et ma grande passion pour mon métier me poussent à entourer les familles avec beaucoup de bienveillance et de douceur. Ayant travaillé quatre ans en salle d’accouchement, à la maternité, en consultation prénatale et en service de grossesses à hauts risques, je bénéficie d’une expérience globale et multiple. J’ai également eu la chance de me former dans l’Approche Quantique ainsi qu’en Rebozo. Je suis par ailleurs formée en haptonomie, en préparation affective à la naissance, en préparation prénatale aquatique et en massage harmonisant de la femme enceinte. Je proposerai bientôt des rituels de soins post partum. En rejoignant l’équipe Naissance d’Amala, je suis heureuse de pouvoir vous accompagner en vous proposant ce suivi global, respectueux du processus physiologique de votre grossesse, de votre accouchement et du post-partum. Je tiens à préserver l’intimité de cette naissance à venir et vous donner confiance en ce que vous savez et sentez. Il est important pour moi de m’adapter à vos croyances et à votre rythme.

Au centre de l'hirondelle, je travaille en mettant en avant mes qualités et mes compétences au service des femmes enceintes, des mamans et des bébés. Avec d'autres praticiens, nous axons nos soins vers le bien-être et la détente des bébés (portage, massage, ostéopathie, psychomotricité...) mais aussi dans un souci d'accompagner de façon bienveillante les parents et les familles. Je me déplace également à domicile pour les soins post-partum.

Je suis formée à la méthode NatalLa : Un toucher-massage psycho-corporel et émotionnel qui bénéficie au corps et à l'esprit tout au long de la période pré et post-natale.

Venue à ce métier, un peu par hasard, je me suis prise de passion pour le métier de sage-femme (SF) en assistant à mon premier accouchement dans une maternité marocaine. Après avoir exercé pendant deux ans au Maroc, j'ai refait mes études en Belgique afin de pouvoir y pratiquer. J'ai obtenu le diplôme belge en 2014, ce qui m'a permis, dès cette année-là, d'intégrer l'ASBL Au Fil De La Naissance (AFDN). En 2017, j'ai complété ma formation par un Master en Santé Publique et j'enseigne à présent dans une école de SF.

A graduate since 2005, Caroline gained a great deal of experience in the delivery unit and maternity ward at Hôpital Saint-Jean in Brussels. Since 2019, she has been working there in prenatal consultation. In 2020 Caroline started working as an independent midwife for pre- and postnatal care. From now on, she will be consulting at POLYCARE Brussels (allée de la Minerva 2, Woluwe Saint Pierre) every other Monday from 9:30am to 1:30pm.
