Routine consultation: Annual consultation with the gynaecologist, for any infectious or oncological screening, desire for contraception, desire for pregnancy etc. Don't forget to take your health insurance stickers and, if applicable, your latest cervical smear results, etc.
Inserting an IUD: All patients should have a consultation before the IUD is inserted, in order to assess whether this is the best contraception for you, to evaluate its feasibility, and to give you the necessary prescriptions. It is best to wait until the start of your period before inserting the IUD. Don't forget to pick up any health insurance stickers.
Consultation at the start of pregnancy: For a first pregnancy appointment, you should wait until 7-8 weeks after your period is overdue. Don't forget to take your health insurance stickers.
Fitting an Implanon: a preliminary consultation is necessary to assess whether this contraception is the most suitable for you. A prescription will be issued at the end of this consultation. The implant is inserted and removed at the surgery under local anaesthetic. Don't forget to take your health insurance cover.
